Since 2004, walking hand-in-hand for change

About Us.

Rooted in a commitment to transformative change.
The Miami/Port-de-Paix Global Solidarity Partnership (GSP) was established in 2004 as an expansion of the 40+ year sister-diocesan relationship between the Archdiocese of Miami and the Diocese of Port-de-Paix, Haiti - the poorest region of the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Established with the aim of building capacity for locally-led, Haitian run social, economic, and ecological development initiatives, the GSP has an established track record of transformative change.

Today, the GSP continues to build on this experience. Rooted in the Gospel call of service to neighbor, and informed by the Catholic social tradition, the GSP leverages South Florida resources into long-term, sustainable, social, economic, and environmental development projects - from fair/direct trade coffee and cacao collaborations, to women-led artisan initiatives, to sustainable solar-energy efforts. Join us in our commitment to build what Pope St. John Paul II called, “a globalization of solidarity - a globalization without marginalization.”
